 • Series: Stretch Out

To stretch for more in our spiritual walk, we must embrace a life consecrated—set apart for God’s purposes—allowing Him to work in His way. This journey involves five key areas: Stillness – "I give up my activity." We need to intentionally pause, be still, and acknowledge God’s presence. (Psalm 46:10, Luke 22:39) Surrender – "I give up my will." Like Jesus in Gethsemane, we relinquish our desires and submit fully to God’s plan. (Luke 22:42) Sacrifice – "I give up my coulds." Though we may have rights and freedoms, choosing to lay them down for the sake of the gospel reflects true devotion. (1 Corinthians 9:4-6, 12,15) Sanctification – "I give up my impurities." Our spiritual foundation matters, and God refines us like fire to build something lasting. (1 Corinthians 3:12-13) Spirit Power – "I take up His power." We don’t live this out by our own strength but through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:25, Zechariah 4:6) Reflection Questions: What stood out to you this week? Have you ever built something in your life on a weak foundation? What happened? Which of these five areas do you feel strong in? Where is God calling you to grow? What steps can you take to deepen your spiritual walk? This process of stillness, surrender, sacrifice, sanctification, and Spirit-empowered living helps us stretch for more in faith and fulfill God’s purpose in our lives
